Event Details

Ballet On Wheels Dance School & Company will sponsor “Dance In His Name” on Saturday, March 19, 2011. The event begins at 5:30 pm and will be held at theRose Theatre on the campus of the University of Memphis. This event is so exciting because for the first time ever, this unique artistic form of Liturgical dance will be showcased to the public.

Due to the emerging popularity of liturgical praise dance teams, Ballet On Wheels thought it would be fitting to celebrate this form of worship through a creative showcase and contest among area and Regional Churches. The showcase is designed to: 1) unite praise dance teams who celebrate this art form with tireless effort; 2) foster fellowship among area and Regional dance ministries; and 3) publicly promote the beauty of  Liturgical dance all across the Southeastern part of the United States.

The Company of Ballet On Wheels performs thirteen to fifteen times a year, giving its students ample experience in the spotlight. The company also performs throughout the year at the invitation of various organizations, social clubs, and special events, and has appeared at the King Day Celebration at the National Civil Rights Museum, Kappa Alpha Psi’s Debutante Tea, Africa in April Cultural Awareness Festival, An Evening of the Arts, Arts in the Park, and the National Baptist Convention Presidential Banquet, to name a few.
